Pretty Plain hut was a large log cabin situated in the wilderness area of Kosciuszko National Park. The hut was lost in the 2003 bush-fires.  The re-building of Pretty Plain Hut has commenced and the plan is to fabricate the hut at the NPWS depot at Khancoban then dismantle and road transport to Tooma Dam where it is hoped that the logs etc will be delivered to site by helicopter. If KHA members wish to volunteer their time in re-building the hut please contact Megan Bowden on telephone number 02 69477016first-level-of-pretty-plain-hutcompleted-011

We’ve decided the built in on on the forum is better, we’ll put a direct link to it  from the website.

Dropped in on CSIRO hut on the weekend, also neat as a pin. A nice small bundle of firewood inside under the bench for those escaping the rain. Considering you can drive to it and the badly vandalised condition when I first saw it the transformation is miraculous. The interpretive signage describing its history is fascinating.

…visitors to Schlink Hilton, neat as a pin!

And this fantastic one of Grey Mare, note the absence of trees and the paint job!

Had a great week last week working on the Boobee Hut rebuild with Uwe Gary and Bob.   Graham Innes and Mike Paterson arrived late Wednesay to help out as well.  The frame and roof were up and just about complete by the time we left on Friday , read for the iron to be put on this week.  Mixed weather - rain Thursday and Friday am.

Cheers
