Has the rebuild been completed? When is the next trip and can we see some photographs?

They've done the roof, the interior next...

Due to NSW Workplace Safety Legislation, Snowy Hydro will under no circumstances allow KHA members to use the tunnel.

They schedule the work during scheduled summer outages and do not give us any notice.

Any update on the progress so far?

Is it complete?

If not, what is done, and what is left to do?

Just wondering as I am planning to drop down to it from up on the Main Range this winter.

Thanks.

Not sure, I thought it was to be finished this year and an official opening scheduled but I'm not sure.

I'll find out.

Thanks for that.

I did email Snowy Hydro to ask, but didn't receive any reply.

I am planning to head in via Geehi for a look before winter anyway, will have to buy some fly fishing waders.

Work on the hut depends on Snowy Hydro's tunnel maintenance schedule which they won't reveal.

They will only give NPWS a few days notice and they will only go in if they have tradespeople free.

The park workers that usually go in are fully occupied on Pretty Plain.

Sorry I can't be more specific.

NPWS were to do the floor and put some furniture in, but it will depend on the resources available at the time.

I think if you want to see it then just go.

Snowy Hydro will not give anyone permission to access the site via the tunnel.

Thanks for the info, don't expect to hear much from Snowy Hydro then, have to take a look myself, as had planned to anyway.

Is there still a track around the outside of the tunnel, as marked on the map, or is that long gone?

Heavy rain after the fires washed a lot of topsoil away, any track that was there would be long gone.

I've been warned off attempting any route other than down from Lake Albina.

I heard a third hand report, that down the very steep Alice Rawson ridge is much easier since the fires.

I'm still going to give it a go this winter, maybe on the way across to have a look at the Western faces of Townshend.
