There are currently 23 models in the Google 3D Warehouse collection. It is now 20% complete.
Huts with a star next to the name have been added to the permanent Google Earth collection, and are included in your viewer if you have an active internet connection, and the 3D Buildings layer turned on.
The remaining models are under review by the GE team.

My current plan is to make models of all the standing huts in the Kosciusko and Namadgi National Parks. But it will take a while! Assistance would be appreciated - let me know if you are interested in helping out.

I'd like to help out.

How do you make the models, do you base them on measurements of the actual huts?

Do you use actual photos of the huts for the surface textures?

They look great!

Measurement is not essential, the 'textures' are from actual photos.

The hard part is getting photos of the huts from all sides in the correct light.

I did read about some software that combines lots of photos on a model and if you tell it the time of day, type of material and orientation it will work out the correct 'colour' for any time of day you supply.

It wasn't Photosynth, something else...
