Constitutional amendment

Dear Members

It has come to the notice of the KHA Committee that from time to time individual caretakers or caretaker groups do not fulfil their responsibilities in maintaining their elected hut. These responsibilities include annual inspections, the completion of required paper work (reporting to the appropriate HMO), and conducting required maintenances

In addition, some Caretaker groups use the opportunity of “work parties” to drive into their elected hut and base themselves there for non-caretaker activities such as mountain bike riding, fishing etc.

It is the Caretaker’s responsibility to ensure their hut is maintained at a certain level and not for continued personal use.

For this reason, the committee is proposing that the KHA constitution be amended as follows;

Part 4- Committee of Management
20. Committee of Management
(2) The Committee:

ADD

Section 3(e) may remove any nominated Caretaker from the responsibility of caring for a hut (as allocated by the Association) if the Committee considers the Caretaker has not carried out the expected Caretaker functions or not acted in the best interests of the Association.
