There was a three side rough-hewn timber slab shelter near the bay.
The open side was directly facing the track with a (very) dirt floor. It had an assortment of kerosene and other tins which were used for cooking up the crayfish that were found in the surrounding waters. The bay is almost directly at the start of the 1,000 metre direct ascent of the Ironbound Range.
