The purpose of the Bulletin is to inform members of current activities, events and operational matters only. The general intention is for the body of the Bulletin to be brief.  

KHA CHRISTMAS PARTY

This year KHA is hosting a family Christmas gathering again.

When:                                     1.00pm Saturday 2 December, 2023

Where:                                    Weston Park, Yarralumla, Canberra- near the little train. Free parking.

What to bring:                        A BYO picnic or bbq, chair & cup and a warm jacket

KHA will provide:                   Soft drinks, fruit drinks and nibbles

KHA PRINTED XMAS NEWSLETTER - LAST CALL

KHA 2024 CALENDAR - LAST CALL

Members wishing to receive a 2024 KHA calendar, please email Simon Plum on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. no later than November 15.  The calendar will feature hut photos sent in by KHA members and will showcase huts from both the Kosciuszko National Park and Namadgi National Park, along with a short history and hut details. We are excited to share with you our new collection. 

NSW HUT REBUILDS UPDATE

Bradley and O'Briens roof is now on and hoping to complete by end October or beginning of November. Possible opening early December or else January 2024.

Brook's Hut-  Commencing on site 6 November till Christmas.

4 Mile Hut - discussing plans with caretaker, Nordic Ski Club and structural engineers. Work to begin January next year.

Happy's Hut - April - June next year.

 ACT HUTS REBUILDS

The ACT Government has announced that both Demandering Hut and Max and Bert's Hut are to be rebuilt..

Currently waiting for more detailed information. Massive thanks to Simon Buckpitt, Geoff Ashley and Jean Hammond for their tireless work on this project. 

HMO UPDATES

Work parties of a minor nature which only require the caretaker or caretaker group are not listed here.  Work parties are only listed here if they require additional support from the broader KHA membership.  

KNP Tantangara

KNP Jagungal

Can Caretakers please continue to send in your workparty proposals well in advance of your proposed dates? They need to be reviewed and approved by the appropriate ranger before final approval is given.

KNP Snowy

There's a few workparties being organised, so here's hoping for good weather.

Don't forget all participants at workparties need to be registered on the VIP (volunteer information portal).

Namadgi

Are you interested in being a caretaker In Namadgi? We are looking for a Caretaker for each of the following huts:

1. Bushfold's No 6 Hut which is near the AAWT,

2. Bendora Hut and .

3.Frank and Jacks Hut

There will be no workparties at this stage. However, there might be one in January. Awaiting confirmation from the Ranger and safety aspects.

Trailbound Duffle Bags

These bags were a big hit at the Woodskills Weekend and there are a few left for purchase at a discounted price from the supplier. Please contact Pip on 431 956 426 if you are interested for details.
