More members than not indicated that they would like to attend an event every 6 months or so  and with that in mind the committee will be looking at various suggestions that were made including car camps/walks and regional catch ups. One member is already putting on a camp/ walking weekend on the Gungahlin sometime over spring if there is enough interest. Please see next newsletter for advance notice and expressions of interest.

KHA CONSTITUTION AMENDMENTS

Proposed updates to the constitution

The KHA committee and the Public Officer are reviewing the constitution to ensure it remains aligned and current with the ACT’s Associations Act and with member’s expectations. KHA’s Constitution was last updated in May 2018 and, since that time, the Associations Act has been updated nine(9) times affecting 65 section with the most recent being 12 December 2023. The Constitution requires amendment to accommodate changes to the Act and also other changes for the way we now operate.

All changes will require member's approval at the AGM and full details of all proposed changes to the constitution will be provided for member’s consideration prior to the AGM.

A Special Bulletin which will provide  a link to the proposed new constitution and highlights all the changes will be emailed to all members by 15 April. A member of the committee will also speak to the changes and answer any questions  at the AGM in May.

KNP Jagungal

February and March have been busy months for work parties in the Jagungal area. We have had some beautiful weather with not a lot of rain. With the cooler months coming, there is not a lot of time left for work parties to take place so please let me know if some huts need an inspection and if you're not able to get into them, I may be able to pop in for a quick visit.

Thanks to those caretakers and work party groups who have gone in and given our huts some love and attention.

KNP Snowy

Time is running out for work parties before winter, the weather lately has been superb.

Those of you who have already given me dates and proposals, lets hope the weather holds for you.

With the days getting shorter,  the window for painting external surfaces is reducing. Thanks so much to those caretakers who have already held their WP, I  know the huts are looking great for your effort.
