Our good friends at NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service were busy in December working on Delany's Hut (aka Delany’s No. 3), battling unseasonal snow and wind to install the roof and complete other tasks.
The timber frame has been erected and corrugated iron fixed on roof, fire sprinkler plumbing installed.
Rebuilding will commence again after 9th January with painting/installation of weatherboards, floorboards and lining boards.
More families associated with the huts have been making contact, which is adding to the rich history of each place and connections with other places. As a result, interpretation resources for Delany's Hut have been able to be updated.
Those who would like to assist with the rest of the Delany's rebuild in January and February 2023 please register on NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service VIP. Participation is not guaranteed, and all workers require a workplace WHS ‘whitecard’.
