AGM REPORT
The 2023 KHA AGM was held on Saturday 20th May at the Adaminaby Bowling Club with 20 members in attendance.
Simon Buckpitt chaired his last AGM as he decided to stand down after 3 years as President. The new KHA committee wish to thank Simon for his tireless work in leading the association over this time, his dedication to the role and the energy in which he has carried out his duties. Special mention must be made of the countless hours spent advocating for the ACT huts rebuild, along with HMO Namadgi Jean Hammond.
The new committee was elected and Pip Brown was welcomed into the role of President. Pip brings with her a wealth of experience and enthusiasm, stemming from her roles with membership and as a leading member of the NSW Hut rebuild sub committee. The majority of the remaining committee positions are unchanged with the full details contained within the minutes of the AGM which will be uploaded to the members section of the website in the coming days.
At the conclusion of the AGM, attending members were treated to a talk by local Adaminaby historian Neville Locker, who spoke to the history of the area using local stories passed down through multiple generations. His genuine warmth, engaging character and humour made it a highlight of the afternoon and was only matched by the amazing culinary spread put on by the local volunteers.
There will be a few photos taken at the AGM in the next newsletter.
Thanks must be given to Marion Plum, HMO Snowy who led the organisation of the AGM.
Many people took advantage of the occasion to stay for dinner at the Bowling Club and also to stay the night in the beautiful township.

Caretakers should review their workparties that they undertook over the past 8 months with a view to assessing what may need attending after the winter.

Well that's the end of another season of hut work parties. Those who were unable to hold one either due to inclement weather or for other reasons, have a think about your next one, maybe bring your date foreward if weather was the issue. For those needing to paint, particularly external cladding you need longer days of sunlight as well as day time minimums above 10 deg. The warmer the better.

Two sucessful workparties were held end of April at Waterhole hut and the reconstruction of the 1939 stockyards close by. Currently we are looking at a workparty towards late July for Frank and Jacks. This will depend on resources and access to the site. If anyone is interested please email me on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and I will let you know if we can get the go ahead. This will also depend on the weather. A clean up was also undertaken at Brandy Flat.
I would like to inform anyone who wants to walk out to Westermans Hut, (this is part of the Settlers Track) this site is now closed to the public and to KHA members until further notice. I will keep you informed.
