Rawsons Hut

Located on a flat down the creek from Rawsons Pass - the location is still visible.

Brief History

Rawsons was built in the 1950s by the SMA as a hydrologists shelter. It was used through the 1970s as an excellently located ski hut for XC skiers.

Rawsons was removed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service in 1984.

Construction

Weatherboard over a timber frame. It included one pot belly stove.
